Are You In It For Love

by Susan J.

Morales arrived in Hawaii in the late afternoon. He took a taxi to the hotel, checked in and went to his room. He unpacked his clothes then walked out onto the balcony, which overlooked the pool area. He looked at the people below, and saw that some of them were swimming and some were sitting around talking. Morales then saw a woman on one of the lounge chairs reading. He smiled and thought to himself that she could possibly be his next target. He decided to go down and try to meet her. A few minutes later he was by the pool, and he looked around but he didn't see her. He looked around but she was nowhere in sight. All night long he couldn't get the thought of her out of his mind. The next day while he walked through the lobby of the hotel he didn't watch where he was going. All of a sudden he bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to…" Morales said.

He looked up and right into the eyes of the woman he was looking for. "Bump into you. I'm sorry."

"That's okay, no harm done," I said.

Once again he looked into the eyes of the woman he wanted to meet. "It seems like we keep running into each other," Morales said.

"I guess so."

"Can I make up bumping into you this morning by buying you lunch?"

"There's no need for that. It was an accident."

Morales noticed the expensive looking bracelet and ring that I had on my left hand. I saw his look but I pretended not to notice.

"It would really help me feel better. Please."

"All right. That is very kind of you Mr.…?"

"Pittman, Morales Pittman at your service." He kissed my hand.

"What is your name?" he asked.

"Brianna Mortiz."

"Well, where would you like to go for lunch Brianna?"

"I'm not picky. What ever you choose will be fine." We found a restaurant. We were seated and while we ate we talked.

"So what do you do for a living, Morales?"

"Well, right now I'm just going where the wind takes me."

"So you don't have anything to tie you down."

"That's right."

"Well, that's great."

My cell phone rang. "Excuse me while I answer this." I took out the phone from my purse and answered it.

"Hello. I thought that was tomorrow night? Well, if I leave right now I'll get there with about four or five hours to spare which is enough time to buy something to wear, unless I buy it here and dress on the plane. Yeah, that would be better and it would save time. Who? Oh he's history. Don't worry I'll get someone. See you in a couple of hours. Bye."

I hung up. I looked at Morales.

"Morales, do you have any plans for tonight?"

"No, why?"

"How would you like to be my escort at a boring party tonight in LA?"

"LA?"

"Yes. I live there and I thought this party, which is a banquet, was tomorrow night. I really don't want to go, but I have to make an appearance. I'll buy you what you need so you don't have to worry about that."

Morales smiled at the thought if me buying things for him.

"Yes, I'll go with you."

"Good. Now, let's go shopping." We left the restaurant and headed to an expensive shop that I knew of. I found a tailor-made dress and everything I needed to go with it, now it was Morales' turn.

"I think you'd look good in a black Armani suit, preferably silk."

Morales smiled as the salesman fitted him with the suit.

"Perfect. Now get the shoes to match. You'll also need cufflinks and a watch too, they should be in the color of gold."

Morales looked great. I smiled at the sight of him.

"Great. Now box everything so we can leave."

"Yes Ma'am," said the salesman.

We left with our purchases. We picked up our things at the hotel and then we were taken to the airport. We were driven to a private section of the airport where a private plane waited for us. As Morales got off the car his eyes almost fell out of their sockets when he saw the plane.

"Whose plane is this?" Morales asked.

"It's mine. Come on, once we take off I'll give you a tour of the plane."

Morales walked behind me as we boarded the plane. Once we were seated the plane took off. A few minutes later we were in the air and I stood up.

"Let me show you around, Morales."

"Okay."

We walked all over the plane and finally went to the back of the plane where, to his amazement, was a bedroom. He looked around the room.

"I never thought I'd see a bedroom on a plane," he said.

"Neither did I until I had one put in, along with a good size shower stall."

Morales looked in the bathroom, and while he did I noticed that he had a very nice behind to go along with the rest of him.

"Well, if you'll excuse me I am going to take a quick shower and start getting ready." I said.

"Do you need any help scrubbing your back?"

"Are you offering?"

"Yes."

"Morales have you ever heard of the mile high club?"

"No. What's that?"

"Come on, you're about to join the club."

I pulled him into the bathroom and he closed the door behind us. I unbuttoned his shirt and ran my hands over his chest. I kissed his chest and then dragged my tongue up towards his neck. He took my face in his hands and kissed me. I felt his tongue enter my mouth while his right hand unbuttoned the front of my blouse. Awhile later we found ourselves with nothing on and in the shower. While the water hit our bodies I felt Morales' hands all over my body. The kisses that he gave me were filled with such intensity that I felt like I was floating. I ran my hands all over his body. We looked into each other's eyes.

"What about the club that you mentioned?" Morales asked.

"I've got your membership right here."

I pulled him closer. I wrapped my right leg around his hip and slowly he guided himself into the area that I know he wanted to go. He started slowly moving in and out; his movements were smooth but powerful. I closed my eyes and rested my head on the wall. He kissed my neck as his right hand played with my left breast. As his thrusting became more intense I bit down on my lower lip and enjoyed the ride. A few minutes later we both felt a shudder run through our bodies as we climaxed together. He leaned on me as I leaned on the wall. We looked at each other and smiled. He kissed me once again filling my mouth with his tongue.

"So, am I accepted into the club?" he asked.

"Yes, you are now very much a member in the mile high club."

We got out of the shower and prepared to get ready for the event that we were going to. When we were dressed, we went back to the other part of the plane where we sat and talked.

"So, what is this thing that we're going to again?" he asked.

"A banquet for the renovation of a hotel in the downtown area. Now don't get me wrong I like being able to help out when I can, but then when I do, I have to attend these banquets so everyone can thank me."

"And then some of them kiss your feet too, right?"

"Right."

The plane landed a short time later. We went from the plane to a limousine and arrived at the banquet awhile later. As we got off the car the flash bulbs from the cameras began to go off in our faces.

"Geezs, I hate having my picture taken."

"It's not that bad, so just smile pretty," Morales said.

I held onto Morales' arm as we walked in like royalty. I could hear the whispers of 'Who's he?' swirling around us. My assistant Helen walked over to us.

"Hi Bree. I'm glad you made it."

"Yeah, me too. You know how much I love these events."

"Oh, I sure do."

"Helen, this is Morales Pittman. Morales, this is my assistant Helen."

"Hello, nice to meet you Helen."

"Nice meeting you too, Morales. Come on, let's sit at our table," Helen said.

We were there for two hours, which was two hours too much. I was given my appreciative pat on the ass, and I smiled pretty for the cameras like Morales said. Awhile later we left and arrived at my house in the hills. As we walked in I could see Morales' eyes widen as he took in all the scenery of the place.

"Look around Morales, if you like."

"Thanks, I think I will."

As he looked around Helen and I talked.

"He's good looking. Where did you find him?"

"We bumped into each other in Hawaii."

"Has he got any brothers?"

"I don't know I haven't asked him, besides I want to keep it light. I don't need to be tied down to someone right now."

"Well, be careful."

"You know me - I always am."

"So, how long do you think it will last?"

"Who knows, but I intend to enjoy the ride."

A few weeks passed; Morales seemed to get along with everyone that he met. I took him shopping and fitted him with the most beautiful Armani suits I could find. At a moments' notice we were on a plane either to New York or London. We had the times of our lives on these trips. During our times together I felt like he was getting too used to our little arrangement - by that I mean I saw him order expensive things, then send them back without hesitation. One day he even sent my pilot to Maine for some lobster because he was craving for the taste of one. I felt a confrontation building between us, but there was no telling when it would happen.

One night we were alone at the house. We were sitting on the rug in the den and we had a fire going in the fireplace, since the night was chilly. We talked while we drank some wine. As I looked at this man in the firelight I couldn't believe how beautiful he looked, those eyes and that mouth. He slowly touched my left cheek with his right hand. I tilted my head back and he kissed my neck and before I knew it we were making love in front of the fireplace. He lay on the right side while he lifted himself up on his elbow. He looked at me and smiled. My eyes were closed and he must have thought that I was asleep. I felt his kiss on my cheek.

"I think I'm starting to fall for you," he said.

I felt my heart start pounding and in my head I was shouting, "No, No, No this can't happen!"

I let what I heard him say pass, and we had a great time the next day. While we had lunch at a restaurant, someone I knew walked over to the table.

"Brianna, how are you?"

"I'm fine, Charlene. How about yourself?"

"I'm doing just fine. And who is this handsome man?"

"His name is Morales. Morales I'd like you to meet Charlene."

"Nice to meet you, Morales. So, how long have you two been seeing each other?"

"Nice to meet you, too," he said.

"Oh, for a few weeks now," I said.

"Where did you two meet?"

"In Hawaii," Morales said.

"What do you do, Morales?"

"Charlene we need to keep some mystery to our relationship, so I think you should quit while you're ahead," I said.

We looked at each other and smiled.

"Maybe you're right, Bree. Well, I will see you around."

"I'm sure you will." Charlene left.

"What was that all about?" Morales asked.

"She was just being the nosy bitch that she is. She's the town gossip. Morales, be careful because she'll pop up in your path every chance she gets."

"I will."

The next day Morales took one of the cars and went shopping. While he was in one of the stores looking at some shirts and pants, Charlene walked up to him.

"Hello, Morales." He turned to face her.

"Hello…Charlene right?"

"Yes. I see you're doing a little bit of shopping."

"Yes. I needed a few things."

"I'm sure you do." She touched his shoulder. The salesman came over to him.

"Sir I put some pants and shirts in the dressing room for you to try on."

"Thank you. Excuse me, Charlene."

"Let me know when you're done, sir."

"I will."

The salesman left and Morales went into the dressing room. Charlene followed a few minutes later. The dressing rooms were extremely private. Charlene knocked on the door.

"Yes?" Morales said.

She entered the room. Morales stood there with no shirt on and the top of his pants unbuttoned.

"Do you need any help?" she asked.

"Are you offering?"

"Yes."

She walked over to him. She ran her hands over his chest and smiled.

"Are you living at Brianna's house?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Just asking."

She ran her hands over his bottom.

"You know something Morales?"

"What?"

"You're pretty hot stuff."

"Am I?"

"Yes."

She rubbed the front of his pants with her left hand. She felt him start to get hard.

"I wonder what it's like to make love to you, Morales."

"Why don't you find out for yourself, Charlene."?

He pulled her close and kissed her hard on the mouth. Charlene unzipped his pants and they fell to the floor. Morales removed her panties, he then put her back against the wall and before she knew it he entered her swiftly.

"Oh God!" she cried.

He kissed her as he entered her again and again. When they were done, Morales got dressed and Charlene fixed her clothing.

"Well, I have to go now Charlene. It was nice bumping into you."

He kissed her cheek and left. Morales arrived back at house with a few packages. I was sitting on the couch reading a magazine when he walked into the living room. He kissed me and continued passed me, and as he walked by I breathed in and I could smell the scent of perfume.

"I see you did some shopping."

"Yes. I needed a few things."

"Amongst other things."

"What's that suppose to mean?"

I breathed in again.

"Did you also switch from a man's cologne to a woman's perfume? Namely Charlene's brand."

We looked at each other.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh come on Morales, I'm not stupid. You must have had Charlene or she might have had you."

"I did run into her."

"I'd say you did more then run into her. You see Morales, Charlene always wants what I have and right now what I have is you. She finds it amusing going after a kept man."

"A kept man? I'm not a kept man!"

"Yes you are, dear."

I stood up and walked towards him.

"Look around you Morales. What is under this roof is mine and nobody else's. You live here, I pay for the things that you are buying and that you will be able to keep when you decide to leave."

"Leave? Why would I leave when I care about you."?

"Care about me? If you cared about me you wouldn't have fucked Charlene! What is it that attracts you to me Morales?"

"I don't understand?"

"Oh, I think you do. You know every time we made love, I felt afterwards like I drank too many margaritas. What is the reason that you're here? Is it the private jet, the cars, the Armani suits? Or is it the money? Because I know for sure you're not in it for love."

"I care about you and I'm starting to fall in love with you."

"Caring and love are two separate and very different things. Let me ask you something. If I lost everything, would you still be there in the morning?"

He looked at me.

"I don't like people who cheat and then expect to walk back into the situation that they had before. So it's up to you to figure out what you want out of this relationship."

I walked out of the living room. Helen met me in the hallway.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"Charlene made a pass at Morales."

"And he accepted, right?"

"Right."

"You okay?"

"I'm fine. What do you say we go for a ride?"

"I say let's go."

We left. We arrived a short time later at a small café. We sat at a table and ordered some coffee.

"Are you sure you're okay about Morales?" Helen asked.

"I'm fine. If I wasn't what would I be doing right now?"

"You'd be calling the nearest furniture store because you would have wrecked the entire house."

"Exactly, besides I just want him to think about what he's doing with his life."

"Do you think he'll think straighten out?"

"I don't think so. He is too set in his ways, but it would be nice."

Charlene entered the café and headed towards our table.

"Charlene's here," Helen said.

"She's like a piece of gum that I can't scrape off of my shoe."

"Hi there. Can I join you two?" Charlene asked.

Helen and I looked at each other.

"Sure Charlene, pull up a chair."

Charlene sat down.

"I'm so tired," Charlene said.

"I can imagine. It's a wonder that you can even walk," I said.

"What do you mean?"

"Well after you bumping into Morales earlier today you must have trouble walking."

She looked at me.

"I just want to know why, Charlene. Why do you always want what I have?"

"I do not."

"You do too. But it's okay - if you want him take him. He's a good guy by nature, but sleep with one eye open."

Helen and I got up and left. Charlene followed us outside.

"Wait! I have to ask you something," Charlene said.

"What?"

"How did you find out? I don't think Morales would have told you."

"Well actually you told me."

"Me? How?"

I leaned forward and sniffed her blouse.

"Your perfume was all over him and Charlene, I'd know that cheap smelly scent anywhere."

Helen and I left. I stopped at the bank and made a transaction. We arrived back at the house awhile later. We walked into the house and we saw a pair of suitcases at the bottom of the stairs.

"I think he made a decision," Helen said.

"Ya think?"

"I'll be in the kitchen.

"Okay."

While Helen went towards the kitchen Morales walked down the stairs.

"Is the taxi here?" he asked.

"No. Did you call one?"

"Yes. I think it would be best if I left."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. I'm a wanderer, not a kept man."

"I'm glad to hear that. Here, I want you to have this."

I handed him an envelope.

"Don't open it until later, okay?"

"Okay. Thanks for everything."

"You're welcome."

We heard a car horn and we walked towards the door. He opened the door and the taxi driver stood there.

"You called for a taxi?" he asked.

"Yes. My suitcases are over there, will you take them to the car please?"

"Yes sir."

The taxi driver took the suitcases to the car.

"It's been an adventure knowing you, Brianna."

"Like wise, Morales. I want you to know that you always have a friend in me, so if you need anything…"

"Thanks. Well, I'd better go. Take care, sweetheart."

"You too."

We hugged. He tenderly kissed me for the last time.

"Bye, Brianna."

"Bye, Morales."

I watched him as he got into the taxi and drove away. I then closed the door. Morales opened the envelope that I had given him. What he discovered was ten thousand dollars in cash. He smiled and put it in his pocket. I sat on the stairs thinking of my time with Morales and I wondered after everything which one of us got hustled, him or I? As I gave it some thought I came to the conclusion that we hustled each other, but it was the best hustle I ever had.

Good-bye Morales.
