Later that night the concert began; as I walked around the stage and sang, I looked out into the audience and saw Mark and his mother sitting in the front row. I smiled at the sight of this sweet boy having a great time. While I laughed and joked with the audience, Tony and the security team kept vigil on the backstage area as well as the stage. Bobby went back to the one of the reception rooms to make sure that things were set up for a press conference after the show. As he walked out of the room he heard a noise coming from the room, he turned around and went back in to look around; as he did he was hit in the back of the head and knocked out. Roxanne walked over to where Tony was standing.
"Tony, have you seen Bobby?" Roxanne asked.
"Not in the past 15 minutes. Why?" Tony said.
"He went to check out the conference room quite awhile ago and I haven't seen him since."
"I think I'd better check it out."
"I'll come with you."
"No, stay here and keep an eye on Angel."
Tony motioned to two other security guards to follow him. They walked to the backstage area. "You two check out the conference room while I check out the dressing room."
"Okay Tony," said the guard.
They each went towards their destinations; Tony went into the dressing room and looked around.
"Bobby? You in here?"
There was no answer. He left the room and as he walked down the hall one of the guards came running towards him.
"Tony!" he yelled.
"Yeah?" Tony said.
"We found Bobby."
"Where?"
"In the conference room and we think he's hurt." They ran to the conference room; Bobby was sitting up and holding the back of his head. Tony knelt down beside him.
"Bobby, are you okay?" Tony asked.
"I think so."
"What happened?"
"I don't know - I came in here to see that everything was set up for the conference and as I left I heard a noise, so I returned and then the lights went out. Oh, my head."
"I think you better go to the first aid station and get checked out, and then I am going to call this conference off."
"Tony you can't do that."
"Why not?"
"Because it's very important to the tour. Besides who ever it was that did this is probably long gone by now, so please let the conference go on as scheduled."
"Okay. You two take him to the aide station and make sure he's okay."
"Okay Tony," said the guard.
They helped Bobby up and took him to get checked out. Tony looked around the room to make sure that everything was okay for the conference. When he was done he went back to the stage area. Roxanne walked over to him.
"Did you find Bobby?" she asked.
"Yes, he's on his way to the first aid station."
"Why? What happened?"
"Someone put his lights out, but he'll be okay. Now we just have to make sure that the person who did this isn't around here anymore."
"How do we do that?"
"By just keeping our eyes and ears open."
"Believe me I will. What do we tell Angel if she asks for Bobby?"
"Hopefully he'll be at the conference and she won't need to ask."
The concert came to an end and I walked towards Roxanne and Tony; they ushered me quickly to the dressing room where I changed my clothes and headed to the conference. As we walked in, there were about fifty reporters and my special guests Mark and his mother. I walked and sat down at the table that was set up for me. Roxanne leaned over towards me.
"Let's get this over with quickly so we can get out of here," Roxanne said. I looked into her eyes.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I will explain it to you after we leave, now no more questions." Roxanne picked up the microphone from the table.
"Good evening to everyone, and thank you for coming. Now as you all saw that Angel put on a very active show and she is very tired; please ask your questions quickly," Roxanne said.
I looked at her and I new something was wrong. I looked around the room and saw Tony at the exit and then I saw Bobby walk in and stand by Tony.
"How are you feeling?" Tony asked.
"I'm okay, I just have a headache," Bobby said.
"You should get checked by a doctor."
"I think I will, just as soon as this is all over with."
The reporters asked their questions and then one particular reporter stood up. "Hey Angel, who is the little boy that was in the front row tonight?" the reporter asked.
"He was my special guest. Why?" I said.
"Well I have never heard of you having special guests in the audience."
"I don't make it public knowledge that's why."
"One more question."
"What?"
"Who is the guy that you have been seeing?"
"What guy?"
"The one that you have been photographed with lately?"
"What are you talking about?"
The reporter looked around the room and saw Tony, he pointed at him.
"Him! That's the guy in the pictures that have been around the country. Is he your latest?"
I stared at the reporter; I was on the verge of telling him to leave when Tony walked towards the front of the room. He looked at the reporter.
"If you want to call me her latest then that's what I am, but whether I am or I am not is nobody's business but Angel's and mine, understood?" Tony said.
"But she is a public figure and…" said the reporter.
"And what?""
"Then the public needs to know who you are, where you come from and what your business with her is."
I looked at Tony. "Tony, you don't need to answer that." I said.
"It's okay Angel, I'll answer the reporters' question," Tony said.
Tony walked over and got closer to me, he then looked at the reporter.
"In answer to your questions, who I am, where I come from and what my business is nobody's concern but my own. Now on that note, this conference is over."
Tony extended his hand to me and I took it; we then walked out of the room and went back to the dressing room. As I rested a little Bobby, Mark and his mother came in.
"Hey Mark! Did you like the show?" I asked.
"It was great!" Mark said.
"How can we ever thank you for this evening?" his mother said.
"The smile on his face is thanks enough. Roxs please make sure that he chooses what ever souvenirs he wants and also that they get home safely."
"I will," Roxanne said.
Mark gave me a huge hug and I kissed his cheek, then he and his mother left. After they left I looked at Bobby and Tony.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"We had an incident while you were on stage," Bobby said.
"What happened?"
"I was knocked out in the conference room by someone." I got up from the chair and walked over to him.
"Are you okay?"
"I think so. I'm going to go and get checked out just as soon as we get you back to the hotel."
"Well let's get out of here then so you can go get checked."
"Let's go," Tony said.
We all left and arrived back at the hotel. Once Tony and I got out of the limousine I turned around and looked into the car. "Now go and get checked out - Roxs, please go with him," I said.
"Okay," Roxanne said.
Tony closed the car door and they left. We went inside and went up to the room; once inside the hotel room I took off my shoes and went to change my clothes. Once I did this I returned to the living room and sat on the couch. I looked at Tony, who was standing by the window. "Tony, will you come over here and sit down," I asked.
He walked over to the couch and sat down.
"I have to tell you something Tony."
"What?"
"I liked what you said in the conference."
"Oh, well I don't think it's anybody's concern who I am or what I am doing with you…"
We looked at each other once those words came out of his mouth. "I didn't mean it the way it sounded," Tony said.
"I know."
We started laughing. He then touched my hand and then pulled back.
"It's okay Tony, I'm glad you did that first because I was trying to get up enough courage to touch your hand."
Tony moved a little closer and touched my face; we then looked into each other's eyes. I felt myself melting as I started into those brown eyes of his. Before I knew it Tony kissed me tenderly. He pulled me into his arms and the kissing got more intense, but in the middle of everything I pushed him away.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"Nothing really, it's just that I don't want to get more involved and have Roxs and Bobby walk in."
"Oh."
At that moment Roxanne and Bobby walked in. I looked at Tony. "What did I tell ya?" I said.
They walked into the living room and sat down. "What did the doctor say Bobby?" Tony asked.
"I'm okay. He said it could have been worse. I'll have a bump for a few days but that's about it," Bobby said.
"I'm glad that it wasn't more serious. Did you see who did this to you?"
"No, it happened too fast."
"Do you think it could be the person who left me those notes?"
"I think so," Tony said. I got up from the couch and walked into the bedroom.
"She's scared," Roxanne said.
"I know, what makes it worse is that Roxs and I have to leave for Las Vegas tonight to make sure things are in order for Angel's arrival tomorrow," Bobby said.
"Well, Tony will be here with her."
"I know, but you know how I am."
"Yes I do. I better go and talk to her."
Roxanne got up and went into the bedroom, she found me sitting on the bed. "Are you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. I'm a little scared with everything that happened tonight."
"Everything will be okay. Listen Bobby and I are leaving in a few minutes for Vegas, but Tony will be here to keep an eye on you."
"Okay, but please be careful."
"We will. We'll see you tomorrow."
"Alright."
She hugged me and they left. I sat on the bed thinking about Tony staying with me and wondering if we were going to finish what we had started on the couch.
